PRINCIPLE: Wool fat absorbs about 50% of its weigh of water. It assists the absorption of the active ingredients. Hard paraffin is used to stiffen the ointment base. Cetostearyl alcohol improves the stability and emollient property of the ointment. Soft paraffin is used as protective and emollient base.
PROCEDURE:(Trituration method)
- Weigh required qty of sulphur, triturated to a fine powder, place it on a ointment slab.
- weigh the required quantity of simple ointment, transfer it to the slab.
- Gradually mix the sulphur with simple ointment by using ointment spatula until a homogeneous and smooth mixture is obtained.

STORAGE: Store in a cool and dry place.
