 PRINCIPLE: 

Divided powders are single dose of powders in which drugs are individuals wrapped. They are more accurate dosage form than bulk powder because the patient is not involved in measurement of the dose. Aspirin is used as analgesic and antipyretic. It is a crystalline drug and hence need to be finely divided before packing as aspirin as large dose. It is dispersed without adding any diluent. Aspirin divided powder is simple powder intended for internal use.

 

PROCEDURE: 

  1. Accurately weigh aspirin and triturate in dry mortar.
  2. Divide this finely divided powder into equal parts each containing 600mg of aspirin.
  3. Follow the folding procedure generally used for pharmaceutical powders.
  4. Transfer these folded packets into suitable envelop and label and submit.
